Webhooks Overview

LaikiPaydispatches asynchronous HTTP POST requests to your configured webhook URL whenever a state change occurs on your cards, such as debit settlements, funds transfers, or card freezes.

Configuration

Webhooks are configured directly on your Merchant Portal Dashboard under Webhooks:
  1. Webhook URL: Enter your HTTPS endpoint (e.g. https://api.yourcompany.com/webhooks/laikipay).
  2. Webhook Secret: Your HMAC-SHA256 signing secret (generated automatically, e.g. whsec_98124b...).
  3. Click Send Test Ping to verify connectivity with your server.

Retries & Idempotency

  • Your webhook endpoint must return an HTTP 200 OK within 5 seconds.
  • If your endpoint returns a non-2xx status code or times out, LaikiPaywill automatically retry delivery up to 5 times using exponential backoff:
    • 1st retry: after 5 minutes
    • 2nd retry: after 15 minutes
    • 3rd retry: after 1 hour
    • 4th retry: after 6 hours
    • 5th retry: after 24 hours
  • Each webhook includes an event identifier and reference. We recommend logging processed references in your database to ensure idempotent handling.
